Oil press
In our traditional village is also located an old traditional olive (olive press). In it one can see all the individual machinery needed to produce oil. Similar olive presses were scattered across our country in small or large groves in order to serve local communities.
Students have the opportunity to see:

Millstones to grind the fruit of the olive tree and turned into a viscous mass, called the 'trappings'.
The mixture was then taken and placed to the press in a special fabric envelopes,
    called 'Moutafis'.
'Moutafis' were placed at the “screw” where manually, man power the mixture was
compressed after they threw hot water coming out the oil mixed with water.
Finally, the mixture was placed in the 'splitter' which separates the water from the
    oil.

Then the children go to our conference rooms where through monitors’ visual display they can observe even through modern process the production of oil from the olive harvesting until the final standardization of the product.
